| | | In The Spirit of Giving
Giving encompasses and uses all parts of ourselves including our head, our heart, and hands to make a positive difference in our community. With this gesture, in freedom, we have what Maya Angelo says, "I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver."
We ask you now, in love and kindness, to help your Portland Branch complete the $4,000 matching grant generously offered for our operational expenses including rent, website, and branch sponsored events. We still have approximately $2,400 to go before the end of the year. To use the full amount of this gift, we must match it with funds so freely given by our members and patrons.
The opportunity to give is just a click away using the link below.
Merry Christmas and may the Holy Nights nourish your souls! |
| | | THE PORTLAND BRANCH Who are the council members of the Portland Branch of the Anthroposophic Society in America? We realized recently that as new members arrive our membership may not be apprised. The dedication, inspiring work, and hours devoted to planning events, keeping the library up to date, cleaning house, bookkeeping, the newsletter, and managing the website and the space is enormous.

| | | The Portland Biodynamic Stirrers |
| November 9ths Horn manure stirring (BD 500) was, once again, a festive event. Watching the transformation from beginning to end was like an artistic activity. The alchemy that is visually present astounds the eye in such a way that the souls involved cannot deny the presence of Spirit. The next stirring will be determined. Please contact Denise Tester at deeprootsfarm@harbornet.com if you would like to be included. |
| | | | | If you have outstanding books it would be helpful to complete the process. We ask that you return them if you are finished. They can be returned 24/7 to the book box located on the porch at 2606 SE 58th Ave. Portland, Or. Books can be checked out during all our events. For more information you can call Valerie Hope at 503-775-0778 |
| | LOCAL ARTISTS HIGHLIGHTED
“It is none other than the sense granted us for the appreciation of art; the artistic sense can transmit to us spirit shining in matter, and revealed as the beauty we appreciate in art.” Rudolf Steiner
Every month, it is my intention to bring to you a piece of art by local artists. All artists in any medium are encouraged to email me at kathyrem@gmail.com and to use this opportunity to share your art with us.
Unification by Pablo Feliz |
| | This is a drawing made as a study about the unification power of Christ connecting human streams that are wrapped up with either the Luciferic or Ahrimanic forces, which have the effect of separation. This is still a topic I am new to, but I wanted to explore our bias toward these forces and the role of Christ in overcoming them. |
